Purchased used a few years ago from Toyota with known belt issues. Toyota told me that they were along selling it cheap because they can't fix the belt noise. Belt dressing does nothing, I've installed a new belt with clean and dry pulleys. I don't know what it's is wrong and neither does Toyota. They said the tensioner is fine. Okay, so my brothers car is a 96 corolla. The serp belt snapped as he turned on his car yesterday, so I went and got a new belt and replaced it. But as I was finishing up, I noticed one of the other two belts is halfway off. It's the belt that goes from the inside crank/idler/compressor. My question is, can anyone get me the CORRECT diagram for this vehicle? I can't find it on google. I need to find a tensioner bolt or pulley so I can get that belt back into its correct place. Have had car for two years, drives beautiful never had any issues. Brakes, engine all good and canadian mechanics always impressed by lack of rust from road salt. I paid 4k and it has 150k miles and only $40 to fill up tank. To import it will only cost $1500 though lots of paperwork and time to drive across and back. I wonder if I should just buy a used ... What would be the typical cost? My belt tensioner may be damaged and need to take it to a mechanic. Any one has suggestions which one should I get from Amazon? Also it would be cool to have the camera when you reverse. My car is manual transmission so not sure if that complicates things.
